The handover point is Lancaster University Sports Centre (gym) car park, by the main entrance. Book a slot or message us and we'll meet you there. Your racket comes back at the next weekend's handover, within seven days.

There are four types of string. Pick the one that fits how you play, or leave it to us.
Polyester
A stiff string for fast swings. It gives the most spin and control and rarely snaps, but it goes "dead" after roughly 10–20 hours of play and it's the firmest on your arm.
Best for: team players, big hitters and string breakers.
Ours: Black Code 1.24 (our RPM Blast), Ice Code 1.20 / 1.25, 4S 1.25
Multifilament
Hundreds of fine fibres twisted together. It's soft, powerful, easy on the arm and holds tension well, though it frays faster if you hit heavy topspin.
Best for: beginners, elbow or wrist trouble, and touch players.
Ours: Triax 1.33, Multifeel
Synthetic gut
A solid nylon string. It's comfortable and cheap, but it loses its feel sooner than the others.
Best for: newer players and anyone who plays now and then.
Ours: Synthetic Gut
Hybrid
Polyester on the mains and multifilament on the crosses. You get the spin and control of poly with more comfort.
Best for: intermediate and team players who want spin without the arm pain.

Questions, answered
Where exactly is the Lancaster handover?
Lancaster University Sports Centre (gym) car park, by the main entrance, between Saturday and Monday. You'll also find us at LU Tennis training, and other spots on campus or in town can be arranged in advance. Just message us.
How long does a restring take?
Lancaster: you get your racket back at the next weekend's handover, so within seven days. Wirral: usually within 48 hours.
Can I get my racket back faster?
Yes, for an extra charge on top of the restring. On the Wirral, a same-day restring is +£15. In Lancaster, a next-evening return starts at £30 extra. It's a special trip just for your racket, so we'll confirm the exact price before you book, and it's subject to availability.
Tip: if you have a BUCS fixture midweek, hand your racket in the weekend before.
Who gets student prices?
University and college students save £2 on every restring. Show your student card or uni email at handover. Everyone else pays the standard price.
Do you string for the LU Tennis and Squash teams?
Yes, we string for both teams. Team players can hand rackets over at LU Tennis training as well as at the weekend handover. If the squad needs restringing before a BUCS fixture, message us and we'll plan it.
Do you have RPM Blast?
We're an exclusive Tecnifibre stringer, so we don't stock Babolat. Tecnifibre Black Code is the closest match: a black polyester shaped for spin, with great control. If you use Luxilon ALU Power, try Ice Code. If you use Wilson NXT or Babolat Xcel, try Multifeel or Triax.
Can I bring my own string?
Yes. Labour only is £14 for students and £16 standard, for tennis or squash.
How do I pay?
On collection, by bank transfer, cash, Monzo or Revolut. There's no deposit.
Do you have a referral offer?
Yes. Refer a mate who has never used ML.stringing before. When they get their racket restrung, you both get a free overgrip fitted. Just tell us who sent them.

Is there a freshers' offer?
Yes. If you're new to uni this year, just say “FRESHERS” when you book or when you hand your racket over, and we'll fit a free overgrip with your first restring. There's no code and nothing to fill in: saying it is enough.
