ML.stringingPrivacy notice
Last updated 29 September 2026. Short version: we only keep what we need to string your racket and get it back to you. No cookies, no tracking, no selling anything.
Who we are
ML.stringing is run by Luka and Matthias (Matty) Matellini. We decide what happens to the details you give us. Questions or requests: contact.ml.stringing@gmail.com, or message @ml.stringing_ on Instagram.
This website
The site sets no cookies and has no analytics, advertising trackers or forms. Fonts and images are served from the site itself. Our host (Netlify) keeps standard server logs that include your IP address for a short time, for security and to keep the site running.
Two things load only if you click them: the booking calendar (Calendly) and the map (Google Maps). Once you click, that provider handles your data under its own privacy policy.
What we collect when you book or message us
- Your name and how to reach you (Instagram handle, phone number or email).
- Your racket, the string, tension and any notes, so we string it as agreed.
- Handover details: when and where you're collecting.
- Your loyalty stamps, if you have a card.
- Student status (a card or uni email) if you want the student price. We check it and don't keep a copy.
You pay on collection by bank transfer, cash, Monzo or Revolut. We don't take payments on this website, and we don't keep card details.
Why, and on what basis
- To carry out your restring and hand the racket back: this is the contract between us.
- To keep simple records of who has which racket, and of past strings and tensions so we can repeat them: our legitimate interest in running the service well.
- To send a reminder that your strings may be due: only if you ask for one, and you can stop it any time.
Who else sees it
Only us two, and the services we use to talk to you: Instagram (Meta), your phone network for texts, Gmail (Google) for email, and Calendly if you book through it. We don't sell or share your details for marketing, and nobody else gets them.
How long we keep it
Booking and racket details for up to three years after your last restring, so we can repeat your setup. Ask us sooner and we'll delete them.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can object to us using it. Email contact.ml.stringing@gmail.com and we'll sort it, usually within a few days. If you're unhappy with how we've handled things, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
